Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization leads men and women to join together to grow spiritually by offering person to person service to the needy and suffering in the traditions of its founder, Frederick Ozanam and its patron saint, St. Vincent de Paul.
Presently there are 19 active and 13 associate members. This conference holds regular meetings every two weeks to discuss the visitations and help to the poor. During these meeting there is prayer and spiritual readings with discussions.
Calls for assistance are received at the rectory and then forwarded to the two people assigned for the particular week. Each call is held in confidence and answered as soon as possible usually within a few hours. Besides these visitations the St. Vincent de Paul Society runs the Serve program (formerly Share) (see below), Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets (see below), clothing collections, food drive for the Billerica Pantry, and along with the Unitatian Church a feeding program.

Serve is an organization consisting of approximately 30 people whose intent is to serve the needy in the area. Although Serve is not strictly for the poor, many of the people helped are also clients assisted by St. Vincent de Paul Society. Once a month people meet together in a friendly supportive gathering. Many volunteers in this organization are also in need of assistance and this program allows many residents to receive help feeding their families while also being treated with dignity.
