First Penance, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation
Preparation for First Penance and First Holy Communion is a two-year process which begins once a student enters 1st grade (or later).
The first year involves attendance at Generations of Faith or participation in the Home Study Program.
During the second year of sacramental preparation, the child together with the parent(s) will attend Generations of Faith or participate in the Home Study Program and also take part in workshops that are geared specifically for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
There will be a parent meeting in the fall for those whose children are ready to begin the second year of preparation. At that time, the schedule for the whole year will be handed out and explained.
Preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation is a two year process which begins once a student enters 9th grade (or later).
The components of the two-year process are: attendance at Generations of Faith with your parents, participation in Confirmation workshops and other activities such as community service, retreat, etc. The Home Study Program is not an option for the Confirmation program.
There will be a parent and student meeting in the fall. At that time, the schedule for the whole year will be handed out and explained.
As always attendance at weekly Mass is a critical part of the life
of a Catholic and should be a regular practice for all families.
The Sunday bulletin is our main means of communication.
